Bottle Rocket-
Basic overview:
One of the projects that we had to focus on for our second semester was our Bottle Rocket.
We were tasked to make a bottle rocket, completely from scratch (meaning we had to make & find our own materials). Although, this wasn't really so hard. You are also given an eggstronaut and your main goal is to make sure that your eggstronaut is safe when your bottle rocket hits the ground.
Some Brainstorming and How it was Proved Wrong:
We actually had the chance to create a mini prototype in class with our partners, so that was the main thing that helped us brainstorm. Without constant trial and error that came along with our prototype, we realized that a rounded cone would be way better for a bottle rocket. Initially, we thought that a tip for the nose cone would be better because that was just what we saw everyone doing. But as time went on, we came to the realization that rounded nose cones are the way to go. Another brainstorm idea that proved to be wrong was with out fins. Three fins are just what everyone finds to be the best, due to anything that you're flying would be more aerodynamic. This proved to be wrong because the three fins on our prototype would make our rocket unbalanced, causing it to not be able to launch correctly. This resulted us in using two fins instead of three for our final rocket and it actually did work because our rocket went up very high.
